Dahlia Tuber Terms of Sale

Before you dive in — please take a moment to read through this page. By placing an order with Inbloom Greytown, you're agreeing to the terms below. We promise it's worth the read!
1. Our Dahlia Tubers
From early winter onwards, we pull on our gumboots and start lifting our dahlia tubers. Every single one has been grown right here on our farm for at least a full season before it makes its way to you. We harvest, wash, inspect, and divide them straight away — it's much easier to spot those precious little growth points (eyes) when everything is fresh. Then we dry (cure), label, and tuck each tuber away for winter, ready to be shipped out in spring so they can wake up in your garden.
We start posting all tubers in springtime. We like to wait until those little eyes are starting to stir — they need warmer, longer days to really get going, and we want to give them the best possible start.
2. Tuber Appearance and Viability
Let's be honest — dahlia tubers are wonderfully weird-looking things. They come in all sorts of shapes and sizes depending on the variety. Some are chunky, some are petite, some arrive as a single tuber, others as a little clump. All of this is completely normal and totally fine!
Every tuber is checked for visible eyes at the time of division and handled with care throughout storage and packing. We treat them like the little treasures they are.
A little wrinkling or shrivelling during storage is perfectly normal — it doesn't mean anything is wrong. Think of it as the tuber having a cosy winter nap.
3. On Arrival
Your tubers have arrived — exciting times! 🌸 Please give them a once-over when they land on your doorstep.
If anything doesn't look quite right, please get in touch with us within 72 hours of delivery. A photo or two goes a long way in helping us understand what's going on, and we genuinely want to make it right.
4. Virus and Garden Hygiene
We take garden hygiene seriously around here. From digging and dividing through to storage and packing, we follow careful practices to keep our growing stock as healthy as possible.
That said, nature has a mind of its own. Viruses can exist naturally in soil and can be spread by insects, environmental conditions, or tools in your own garden — things that are simply beyond our control. For this reason, Inbloom Greytown is unable to accept responsibility for viruses that occur after tubers have been planted in your garden.
5. Availability and Substitutions
All tubers are subject to availability — we're a small farm, and sometimes the season has other plans!
In the unlikely event that a variety doesn't store well or becomes unavailable before dispatch, we'll either issue a full refund or reach out to offer a suitable alternative. We'll always keep you in the loop.
If you think a variety might be incorrectly labelled, please contact us with your order confirmation and some photos so we can look into it together.
